These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Shield parental control platform operated by Rostan Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“Shield”, “we”). By creating an account you agree to be bound by these Terms and by the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Shield.
1. Eligibility and guardianship
You must be 18 years or older and the verifiable lawful parent or guardian of each child you add to Shield. You represent that you have authority under the DPDP Act, 2023 and the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 to consent to the processing of your child’s personal data for their safety.
2. Account and security
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Shield stores passwords hashed with Argon2id and issues HTTP-only, Secure, SameSite session cookies. Notify us immediately at security@shield.makewish.ai of any suspected compromise.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Install Shield on a device belonging to anyone who is not a child under your lawful guardianship.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass DNS filtering, rate limits, or tenant isolation.
- Use Shield for workplace surveillance, spousal surveillance, or any purpose other than the protection of a minor child under your care.
- Resell Shield without a signed ISP reseller agreement.
3. Subscription and billing
Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Billing is handled by Razorpay. Taxes (GST) apply for Indian subscribers. You may cancel at any time from Settings → Billing; the paid tier remains active until the end of the current billing period.
4. Service level and availability
Shield targets 99.5% monthly uptime excluding scheduled maintenance. DNS resolution is provided on a best-effort basis; you acknowledge that no web filter is perfect and that parental supervision remains essential.
5. Intellectual property
Shield, the Shield logo, and all platform software are the exclusive property of Rostan Technologies Pvt. Ltd. You retain ownership of content you upload (child avatars, notes).
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Shield’s total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the fees paid by you in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms. On termination, your data enters a 30-day grace period and is then cryptographically erased per our Privacy Policy.
8. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Exclusive jurisdiction lies with the courts at Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
